NEW DELHI: Tired after a long bout of campaigning for civic polls in Allahabad, a cabinet minister in the Uttar Pradesh's BJP government was seen being given a foot massage by party workers, in a video tweeted by ANI.
The video clip featuring the minister Nand Gopal Gupta, also known as Nandi, has been widely viewed and retweeted.

It is not clear if Gupta, MLA from Allahabad South, asked his colleagues for the massage or if they volunteered. Many on social media were not pleased and slammed the state BJP leadership for indulging in 'sycophancy' and 'slavery'.

Some Twitter users likened the episode to the Hardik Patel 'sex CD'.

A few odd people defended Gupta. They said he could be 'suffering from 'low blood sugar' and thus must have needed 'immediate attention'.

It appears VIP culture in India is alive and well. This is not the first instance of politicians misusing power by taking advantage of their juniors and staff members.

Earlier video of a former RJD legislator helping party president Lalu Prasad to tie shoes had gone viral. There was also a video of Raghubar Das, CM of Jharkhand, getting his feet washed by women, which had created a storm on Internet in Aug 2017.
